So excited about the kickoff luncheon for the Atlanta Arthritis Walk 2012! Friends and sponsors gathered at Maggiano's Buckhead to share personal stories of struggle and triumph and as we all have one goal - TO BEAT ARTHRITIS! My dear friend Heidi is the adult honoree for this year's walk.
She has overcome so much in her life with Arthritis and is still SMILING, God bless her! She has the most beautiful heart and there wasn't a dry eye in the room while she told her inspiring personal story today. I am so grateful to the friends like Heidi I've made through the Arthritis Foundation, and to have so much support from others with this disease. I adore her and am so happy she is this year's Atlanta Walk Honoree, it is so very well deserved! (pictured below with Heidi)
A fantastic time was had by all!
Heidi's hands from the damage arthritis has left behind! This is the reason I am a life long supporter and spokesperson for the Arthritis Foundation and will never stop spreading awareness of this crippling disease until we have a cure. Arthritis is unacceptable! With Madison, Miss Georgia Teen United States 2011, our Yorkie Rocky and I at the volunteer tent at last year's Atlanta Arthritis Walk.
GOOOO WISDOM WALKERS!!! Super proud of our team this year, let me know if you'd like to join our team to support this year's Arthritis Walk!
With my sweetest friend and ever so inspiring health advisor, Dorothy Leone-Glasser. She's our team leader and inspires me to feel empowered that I can beat arthritis no matter how bad the flare up and what my day feels like! She inspires me to reach for my dreams and never ever give up, no matter how much it hurts. Her bio and accomplishments are simply incredible, check her out peeps! I am blessed and honored to be her friend.
Dorothy Leone-Glasser, RPN, HHC, has lived with systemic lupus for over twenty-five years. As a result, she has overcome two forms of cancer, disabling arthritis, kidney failure, a coma, one heart attack, and three strokes. During this time she graduated from a wheelchair to crutches to ultimately walking with her own two feet. Between the ages of 20 and 40, Dorothy received three death sentences imposed by her doctors. Today she is not only alive, but she is living well and paving the way to the future of wellness by creating the Wisdom of Wellness Project, LLC. This is why I walk with the WISDOM WALKERS!
